On December 20, Daedeok research center in Daejeon completed the construction of a solar power facility and announced that it is currently generating renewable energy by itself. Samsung Heavy Industries selected Daedeok research center, an eco-friendly and smart research hub, as an eco-minded pilot site and set a target to use 100% renewable energy by 2030 and realize netzero early by 2040.

Installed solar power generation capacity is 0.1MW and the capacity will be gradually expanded by reviewing the effectiveness through pilot tests.
